Career and Purpose

Hello!

Today we’re going to look at your career and purpose because being aligned with your chosen career and true purpose is hugely important for your health.

You're going to assess if you need any more support at work or if you need to align yourself with your true purpose…

Maybe your health condition is causing you to re-evaluate your career and purpose which could bring a big breakthrough to your health? We spend hours in the workplace and if we aren’t aligned with it that can be detrimental to your emotional health, whereas being content and fulfilled with your work will do wonders for you!

Ok, are you ready to do some digging?

‘Everything happens for a reason’ you’ve heard this before of course. Well, being confronted with life-changing situations, such as a health condition, can be the greatest catalyst for change.

Let me ask you, 'do you need to make some big changes in your career or find your true purpose to enable you to have complete health, wellness and recovery?

Take some time to think that question through, and take lots of time to write down or journal your thoughts.

Alternatively, could it be your health condition is actually forcing you to look at other work options insofar as you can't continue doing the same role any longer, if you wish to prioritise your health?  Think about this...

I know you might love your job and have a good income too but do remember that you can find another job, but you can't find another body, so listen to it while you can and bear in mind that wise old saying that 'prevention is better than cure'.

Ask yourself, do you need to consider giving your body a break before it breaks you?

So, is it time for you to pause?

Being confronted with life-changing health challenges might force you to stop or pause for a while but this could be the perfect opportunity for you to take time to make some positive changes and some healthier choices.

Your health is your priority and you can only put other things before it for so long. Remember, quite literally 'health is wealth'.

So, let's see what the art of the possible is in terms of you pausing to consider your career and purpose.

Firstly, assess your current role, and if you ARE happy there but could benefit from some adjustments...

Can you adapt your hours or role?

Can you have a quiet space?

Can you take a career break?

Consider if you can create a work environment that will:

Allow you to be healthy?

Allow you to be happy?

Some top tips at work if you’re happy to stay in your career!

  • Inform people

  • Don't suffer in silence

  • Be guilt free

  • Know you are not damaged goods

Now, so if you’ve assessed your career and if you recognise you AREN’T happy, pause to reflect on these points...

Is it time to make a change?

Is it time to do what you enjoy?

Is it time to get aligned to your purpose?

If so, worry not, because this might just be the perfect time to discover what your real purpose is and find a new role for your future.

This could actually be quite exciting right?!

Sometimes what seems like a setback to you can be the start of your break-through, maybe things do ‘happen for a reason’ and your situation is allowing you to assess your purpose and help you finally become your truest self.

So, my lovely evaluate your career and purpose and ask yourself...

  • What is MY purpose?

  • How am I ALIGNED with it?

  • What can I DO to move forwards?

Remember everything happens for a reason and possibly, what you thought was meant for the breaking of you, might be for the making of you!

Having time to pause might be a blessing in disguise, it might be the start of a new chapter on your journey back to wellness, however long and winding the journey might be.
